Why Mothers are Heroes: Appreciation Post on National Hero Day (Shoutout: Happy Birthday to my Mama!)
July 2017-- I ~finally~ visited Cebu's neighbouring island in the Visayas-- BOHOL! My Aunt and Uncle, together with their three lovely and cutie children, went here to the Philippines for a quick visit. Their family has been residing in the United States for awhile, and they sometimes visit the Philippines for a summer vacation. This was one of their visits. They have decided to go to Bohol, since their three kiddos have never been there. We were invited by our Aunt and Uncle to tag along so that it would be a more lively trip. I was so thrilled that I got an invite, I'd tell you that! I've been wanting to go to Bohol but there seemed a never good time to go. At that time I said to myself: And now.... Wow. Here it is! I can finally visit Bohol and cross it off my bucketlist!
I was so excited to see the "famous Chocolate Hills" in person! I have always seen these hills on postcards and photos, as they are a trademark for Bohol. I finally got to see it face-to-face! The tourist guide told us that: In the 'dry season or during the summer heat, the hills get the darker, chocolate-tinted colours, thus its name. If it is gloomy or rainy, the hills are a lush green hue.
Chocolate Hills in Bohol is a famed tourist attraction in the Philippines which continues to draw attention for its unique and majestic characteristics. There are more than 1,000 symmetrical mounds, conical and dome-shaped that most people liken them to Hershey's Kisses Info from 2021 Chocolate Hills Guide.

Our tour guide said that a visit to Bohol won't be complete without visiting the famous Bohol Bee Farm! We went there and bought and ate the bestseller food for tourists-- ice cream! Their ice cream is homemade and made of fresh ingredients that's why they taste so good. Sadly we were not able to visit the bees because apparently, it was not a good time when we came (that was why I was determined to go back, and yehey I was able to, and I will post another blog about my Part 2 Bohol experience!).

It was my first time to see a man-made forest! I was overwhelmed by all the tall trees surrounding me, and I felt like a tiny dot in this big universe. There is something about trees and the greenery that somehow soothes and relaxes me.
We quickly stopped by Sagbayan Peak. I was not able to explore the place because of some circumstances. (During my second visit, I was able to really go around and about this place, I hope you'll stay tuned for my Bohol Part 2 blog post).
For me, this resort is the best place to be whenever you want to enjoy your stay in Bohol to the fullest! The place is huge and their buffet food selections are vast and not to mention, really really delicious. On top of that, the resort staff were all warm and friendly and quick to assist, too. (Disclaimer: This is not a paid post. I am recommending this resort because I had a great time!)
